1. 10 years. It will take you ten years for you to become a veterinarian.

The ten years can be summed up into four years of undergraduate work, two years of post-baccalaureate studies while working as a veterinarian assistant to gain clinical work and first-hand experience, three years of lecture and lab work, and a rotating year in clinics where you get to practice with animal supervision.

2. 60% of veterinarians are female. More and more women are becoming veterinarians each year and have served this industry for years. You found more male vets back in the day than female vets.

3. Each year, more and more veterinarians get out of this industry for various reasons. There’s a problem with this industry, and more vets are coming out of this industry than vets entering this industry.

4. Being a veterinarian takes a lot more than just medical training; there’s a lot of expectation for you to meet when the real world comes, and a few ones only care about what you do because they think your profession is only to keep their pets overall health and safety to be your top priority.
